In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

NFC takes defence to cyberworld as 'stalker' Rafizi closely follows

Feb 9: Perhaps finding it hard to convince the public through UMNO-controlled mainstream media, National Feedlot Corporation has taken to the internet by starting a Facebook page and a Twitter account.

Its first target was none other than PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli, who has been spearheading a sustained campaign to expose alleged abuses of the company's RM250 million 'loan' from the government.

"Rafizi Ramli is ignorance [sic] of the role of auditor general and he abuses the report by AG to attack NFC!," exclaimed its earliest tweet and Facebook posting.

Rafizi (pic, right) has been called a stalker and 'pretty boy' by Wanita UMNO chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, whose husband and children form the top management of the company set up to cope with Malaysia's meat demands.

NFC first came under scrutiny after the Auditor General reported that it had only produced 3,289 heads of cattle, or a mere 41.1 per cent of the target set in 2010. For the financial years ending December 31, 2008 and December 31, 2009, NFC incurred losses amounting RM7 million and RM11 million respectively.

This was followed by a series of shocking revelations led by Rafizi, showing how the RM250 million 'loan', which was controversially approved during deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yasin's tenure as Agriculture minister, had been spent for holiday packages, luxury properties and a Mercedez Benz, among others.

Yesterday, Rafizi called another press conference, revealing two other purchases by NFC which had nothing to with its cattle-rearing business - two units of condominiums in a super-posh district in Singapore costing a total of RM34 million.

And keeping true to his status as the company's 'stalker', Rafizi became NFC's first Twitter follower.

"Yeah I am NFC's 1st follower!" he announced. "Will I get a condo?" asked Rafizi cheekily.
