IPOH, Jan 10 – MCA leaders are to hold meetings regularly with the Chinese to step up unity in the community to garner a huge victory in the next general election, party secretary-general Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said today.
Preparations are going on smoothly to face the next general election, he said and added that the undivided support of the Chinese community, especially in Perak, is most encouraging.
“I notice that more Chinese NGOs are coming forward to meet us and attend MCA-organised events. This is a good indication that the MCA is winning back the support of the Chinese voters,” he said, adding that the party hoped to achieve a bigger victory in the next general election.
Earlier, Kong, who is the transport minister, presented cheques totaling RM69,000 to 23 welfare bodies in Perak. The money was donated by Magnum IT Sdn Bhd.
Asked about the list of MCA candidates for the next general election, he said the party is identifying the eligible people.
